A surprising expression of Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin with subtle notes of Sardinian citrus, oriental herbs and Gunpowder tea.
This gin was born from the extraordinary journeys of "The Curious Journey of a Curious Mind". Over the years, PJ Rigney, founder of The Shed Distillery, has made numerous trips including one along the 41st Parallel North, through the azure waters of the Mediterranean Sea. Wandering through thickets of oak trees, PJ arrived at the rustic Italian village of Sinisicola. The local inhabitants introduced him to Citrus Mostruosa, a citrus endemic to Sardinia. He then had the idea to add his delicious and unusual notes to the exotic oriental flavours of Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin. This is how the recipe for Drumshanbo Gunpowder Gin Sardinian Citrus was born.
A great discovery for all Gin lovers.
Aromatic profile: more fruity than the original Drumshanbo Gunpowder version, which accentuates the fruity side.
ABV: 43%
"The curious journey of a curious mind"
It takes an inquisitive, questing spirit to produce the most remarkable results. Through the years PJ Rigney has taken many journeys from familiar to terra incognita.
In times, those travels brought him here, to the wild and unspoilt landscape of Drumshanbo, Co. Leitrim. And it was here his curious mind, filled with the great oriental traditions of distilling fruit, herbs and botanicals, got to work.
He created The Shed Distillery of PJ Rigney, with the medieval copper pot stills, and began a quest to fuse oriental botanicals with the local Irish ones.
As it turned out, they got on very well indeed. The result of this passionate exploration is Drumshanbo Gunpowder Irish Gin - unique, extraordinary and as remarkable as the elusive creature PJ has occasionally glimpsed in the fields, the Drumshanbo Jackalope.
