“We take our time to make sure you get only the best chocolate; it takes up to five days to produce each batch of our truffles”.
Skelligs Chocolate is a family business based at St Finian's Bay in County Kerry, one of the most westerly points in Ireland and overlooks the UNESCO World Heritage Site, Skellig Michael. They have been producing their award-winning chocolates for over 21 years now, having started with a staff of 4, two little production rooms, one chocolate wheel machine and a passion for chocolate making that is still evident today. After surviving a fire, the now state of the art factory, employs almost 25 local staff and welcomes visitors from February through to December. As you enter the factory, you can see the chocolates being made, but more importantly, taste the freshly made treats from the chocolatiers and learn all about chocolate. The time it takes to produce each batch of truffles, combined with the delicate artisan fashion in which they create their chocolate, has led them to win many Great Taste and Blas na h-Éireann awards over the years! With a vast selection of chocolates to choose from, there is something for everyone’s taste buds!
