the story of the producer

Abernethy Butter

Will and Allison of Beechtree Farm in County Down began making butter in 2005. The skill has been passed down through the family for generations and each roll of butter is lovingly made. What started with visits to local agricultural and vintage shows, demonstrating how cream was churned and turned into butter the couple soon realised there was a market for their lovely creamy butter, they have developed the product and now their butter is sold in many shops throughout Northern Ireland.
The couple source their cream from a local farm that grazes it's cows on the lush green pastures of The Lagan Valley.
